Textile Products Care Different types of fabric require different care rituals. Here are the tips you need to pay attention to ensure the longevity of your textile products...
* Store textile products in a dry and comfortable environment. Remember that moisture can cause mold.
* In order to prevent damage from dust and light, store the textile products, that you will not use for long-term, in protective cases such as boxes or holdalls and check them regularly for insects.
* Do not fold textiles unless you have to.
* Do not expose dyed fabrics to direct sunlight to prevent discoloration and fading.
When it comes to the cleaning/washing of textile products, the type of fabric is extremely important. Spend time and attention on both sorting and washing as it will help prolong the life of your clothes:
Linen:
* Never wash linen clothes at a temperature higher than 60 degrees celsius or you risk them to get old qiucker.
* Do not forget to separate the colors from white and other light colors.
* Before washing, use a stain remover, not bleach. Bleach weakens the fibers in the fabric and spoils dyed clothes.
* If possible, intervene the spots as soon as possible.
* Fill your machine halfway when washing linen products. This fabric needs a little more water to get clean than others.
* Make sure to hang linen products to dry. The dryer causes annoying wrinkles.
Silk:
* Hand wash silk garments using a mild soap and hang them to dry.
* Iron your silk textile products carefully and at low temperatures, as the possibility of burning the fabric is very high due to its delicate texture.
Wool:
* Avoid washing your woolen clothes frequently as it will shorten their life and wear the fabric prematurely. Wool is a particularly delicate fabric, so take care of it.
* Soak the wool in cold water before washing it in soapy water. This will help prevent wrinkles.
* In cases where machine washing is absolutely necessary, use a delicate setting with cold or lukewarm water.
* Always dry naturally.
Cashmere:
* Be very careful when washing cashmere, as it is quite delicate and can be easily damaged. To protect the products, gently place them in a pillowcase or a special cloth bag before starting the wash cycle. This will prevent them from wearing out inside your washing machine.
* For cashmere, use a wool-specific detergent or a mild, diluted soap.
* Avoid drying in the dryer at all costs. Instead, lay your cashmere items on flat towels to air dry.
Cotton:
* Since cotton is very durable, it is extremely practical to wash it in the washing machine.
* Wash in warm (not hot) water using a colorfast detergent.
* To keep cotton towels fluffy and soft, use half the recommended amount of detergent and rinse extra at the end of the cycle.
* Machine dry at low temperature or naturally to avoid creasing.
Synthetic fabrics (rayon, nylon, acrylic, spandex and polyester):
* Synthetic fabrics are also easy to care for - just turn them inside out and wash them!
* You do not need to use a special detergent.
* Dry at low speed just like cotton.
* Especially for nylon garments, you may consider using fabric softener to prevent static electricity.
